ICQ - International Chemistry Quiz- Formerly known as ANCQ
The International Chemistry Quiz-ICQ is held and aims to promote student interest in the subject - chemistry and the essential role that chemists play in our society.

Students from throughout Australia and other 20 countries from around the world, including India, Germany and China participate in ICQ.

Many think ICQ as an assessment of a student’s knowledge over the subject of chemistry, but ICQ stands as an opportunity to promote chemistry and its importance in our lives and for teachers to teach chemistry in such a way that students develop a better and deeper understanding of the subject chemistry.

 

Quiz Details
In the quiz of ICQ total 30 multiple choice questions will be asked that will be required to be answered either in the paper or in the online format within the time frame of 60 minutes.

Age criteria and other important details:
There will be 4 age levels according to different ages.
•    Junior level – Years 7 & 8
•    Intermediate level – Years 9 & 10
•    Senior level – Year 11
•    Final level – Year 12

We believe that all the appearing candidates must put this in their minds that ICQ is not intended to test how good you are with your syllabus preparation. The question distribution is not specific like - some questions will test your knowledge and understanding covered as part of studying the Australian syllabus. But the major focus for this exam is to make the ICQ quiz interesting for the participating candidates and to promote overall chemistry subject and thinking in a chemistry way.

The quiz questions will test the students on how they are applying their chemistry subject knowledge and understanding to grasp the question intent and answer accordingly. You must know that there will be some questions that will be a bit harder and are designed to challenge and test more able students.

Certifications and related details
Certificate of Participation will be given to all the students and typically 40% of all participants will receive a Certificate of Merit to acknowledge their efforts and subject knowledge. Students obtaining a perfect score of 30 out of 30 will be rewarded with a Certificate of Excellence and a Lapel Pin.
In ICQ students are encouraged to engage with the questions and there will be no negative marking scheme for the incorrect answers. Every candidate must know that they will only be competing with other participating students from India itself.

Exam Date
The registrations were started on 1st March,2021 and are now closed. ICQ is scheduled on 29th July, 2021.
